The ep fabric conveyor belt is widely used in material transportation in mining, power, ports, cement and other industries because of its high strength, low elongation and strong water resistance. However, under high-frequency operation and complex environment, the conveyor belt is prone to wear, tear, deviation and other problems, which affect the service life. Reasonable maintenance and scientific use are the key to prolonging the life of the ep fabric conveyor belt.

Correct selection is the premise. Different working environments have different requirements for the performance of conveyor belts, such as wear resistance, heat resistance, oil resistance, acid and alkali resistance, etc. In the procurement stage, the appropriate EP model and covering rubber type should be selected according to parameters such as the type of conveyed material, conveying distance, inclination and working temperature. For example, a heat-resistant ep fabric conveyor belt should be used when working in a high temperature environment to prevent the rubber surface from aging and cracking.

The installation accuracy and conveying system structure directly affect the life of the conveyor belt. During installation, ensure that the roller, roller and tensioning device remain in the same plane to avoid deviation and edge wear. At the same time, adjust the appropriate tension to prevent the conveyor belt from slipping or over-stretching and causing damage.

Strengthen daily inspection and maintenance. During operation, the surface wear of the conveyor belt, the integrity of the joints, the operating status of the rollers, etc. should be checked regularly, and any abnormalities should be handled in a timely manner. For example, the jamming or sticking of the rollers will cause uneven force on the conveyor belt, which is easy to cause breakage or tearing. It is recommended to conduct a comprehensive inspection once a month, and perform local glue filling or joint repair when necessary.

Cleaning and protection cannot be ignored. The operating environment of the conveyor belt is mostly dusty or humid areas. Residues should be removed regularly to keep the belt body dry and clean to prevent material inclusions or corrosion from causing damage to the belt surface. For conveyor belts that are not used for a long time, they should be stored in a dry, ventilated, and light-proof environment to avoid aging due to environmental influences.

Extending the service life of ep fabric conveyor belts depends not only on the quality of the product itself, but also on the management of the entire process from selection, installation, use to maintenance. Through reasonable operation and scientific maintenance, not only can the loss of equipment downtime be reduced, but also the operating costs of the enterprise can be effectively controlled.
